(Dubstep/JazzStep/FunkStep/Crunk/Hip Hop)
// Mile High Sound Movement //

Slim Thugz is the home-grown, newly formed collaboration between The Mile High Sound Movement’s exceptionally dedicated and talented producers Frequent C and The Candyman. Upon recognizing the near-limitless potential of combining their vast and different musical backgrounds ranging from hip-hop to dub, jazz to chill-out, and funk to glitch, Slim Thugz joined forces and began their odyssey towards inundating the Colorado Music Scene with completely original performances; immediately setting their sights on their first EP release with hardly a year of production each. Coining their own genre, “Jazz-Step”, within only weeks of their musical genesis, “Living Dreams” is a masterpiece that single-handedly exemplifies the early goals and ideals of the Slim Thugz dream. In the first 4 weeks after its initial release, the EP was downloaded over 7,000 times and played upwards of 80,000 times through multiples websites all across the globe. Their live show combines crafty remixing and sampling of all-original Slim Thugz material in addition to improvisational embellishment with live instrumentation including keyboards, synthesizers, and sample pads. Slim Thugz also excels at layering your favorite MC’s a-capella vocals over some of the crunchiest, most dance-able and exciting original beats to create perfect party music for a wide variety of audiences.

Their most recent release, the Slim Thugz Fall Sampler (www.slimthugz.bandcamp.com ) has been generating an incredible amount of attention that is propelling them into a very busy fall season, and one the tracks, Sacred Swag, has already made it to the #5 spot on Soundcloud.com’s “Whats Hot” page, so keep your ears to the ground for these kids because they are showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

He’s been rockin’ one for over eight years and it currently stands at one foot tall. His love for electronic music, poking people in the eye, and affiliation with Nasty Rumor began in early 2005. Since his discovery of dubstep and the trigger finger, Mohawk became predominately an Ableton DJ, but has been known to use cds and has recently acquired a taste for vinyl. His prior gigs include opening sets for Borgore, Skism, Dub Gabriel, Bombaman, Lazer Sword, Phaded, Claw and Richie August of Hulk, Trillbass, Reso, High Rankin, Mark Instinct, Cyberoptics, Mimosa, NastyNasty, Hellfire Machina and more.

Outside the club scene, he helped create the Dubstep Fiesta Tent during the summer of 2010 at the festival known as Schwagstock.
____ DJs_____

<<< NMEZEE >>> KC, MO
EZ Brothers- Cicada Rhythm- Lotus Camp- Dubstep.fm

NMEZEE is one half of the Kansas City dubstep dons, the EZ Brothers, and is an 11-year veteran of the Midwest electronic music scene. Playing drum n bass, dubstep and drumstep, NMEZEE has shared bills with some of the game’s biggest names including Excision, EPROM, Heyoka, Michael Menert and Caspa, and has played countless festivals including Schwagstock 45, Underground Sound 6 and Wakarusa (with the EZ Brothers), smashing every dance floor he touches down on. NMEZEE is all about big bass lines, moving bodies and good vibes, so join the party and check him out in a city near you in 2011!

<<< BOMMER >>>

Zack Bommer started off listening to hip-hop/trap music. After being introduced to dubstep, the heavy bass and the similarities yet all the differences to hip hop has drawn him into the genre. He then learned to mix dubstep. Bommer has since begun taking the music serious. Bommer became part of the Nasty Rumor crew after displaying his abilities on Nasty Rumors own radio show on Monday nights at 2720 called the Wrek Sessions. Since then he has opened for OSC (Antiserum vs Roommate), Phaded, sMilidion N Toffler, Positive Vibrations, featured a couple times on the Wrek Sessions, played in Iowa City, Omaha, Nebraska, and played countless times in STL. Bommer has now started producing his own tunes as well. With Bommer’s reputation building up in the ever-growing dubstep scene in St. Louis, there is no doubt that Bommer will continue to rise through the ranks locally and nationally as well.

<<< MEXICANS WITH GUNS >>>
San Antonio, Texas
[Dubstep-Glitch - Grime- Hood- Electronica-Gettho-Tech]

MEXICANS WITH GUNS is the raw and exciting production-moniker/character created by Exponential Records honcho Ernest Gonzales. After prepping his Been Meaning To Tell You LP for the Friends of Friends label, EG was in search of a new sound and ready to explore the depths of bass music and it’s unique sonic elements…his journey lead him to the cutty edges of his mind where Mexico, London and the Dirty South all fused into one mysterious and club friendly mindset.

Dawning the Mexican wrestling mask in February 2009, MWG began tearing down the streets with big bass and a nasty swag, breaking out remixes for the likes of Bassnectar, Rainbow Arabia, CYNE, Faunts, Yppah, and shared the stage with the likes of Peanut Butter Wolf, Daedelus, Ghosts on Tape, Nocando, Eliot Lipp. Mux Mool, Jogger and more. The Me Gusto EP is just a taste of what’s to come from MWG in the near future including collaborations with Tiffany Preston(Rainbow Arabia), Nocando(Alpha Pup) and more so watch out

Los Angles, CA
Play Me- Tuff Love Dubs- Burn The Fire- Umbrella Clothing
[Heavy Heavy Heavy Dubstep- Electronica]

We Bang A.K.A. Greg Oerlemans – Dubstep/Electronic music producer from Santa Ana California was signed to Play Me Records with his debut release “Smash the Floor” which was on Beatport’s dubstep top ten charts as #1 as well as Beatport’s overall genre charts at #32. The release entitled “Summer Smash” includes “Smash the Floor” featured on BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac Mash Up Mix show and Annie Nightingale’s Radio 1 Breaks show along with the electro dubstep smasher “Skytop” crowning him Best Breakthrough Artist of the 2010 in Dubstep.

Playing alongside some of Dubsteps greatest DJs and Producers such as Plastician, Downlink, Liquid Stranger, Vaski, Reidspeed, FS and many others We Bang is a product of dubstep sounds filtered into 80’s synths and rave stabs wrapped in heavy bass that will take you on a journey of pure dance floor destruction. In 2011 Paula Abduls show “Live to Dance” on CBS had one of the Semifinalists “Dance Town Chaos” use “smash the floor” in part of their dance routine. One of the star judges Kimberly Clark said “Their choice in music gave her that DUBSTEP FLAVOR”. With releases on Play Me Records, Sub Chamber Recs, and on Tuff Love Dubbs and remixes for Micky Slim on Cr2 Records and Deekline and Ed Solo’s Shake da Pressure remix coming out on Sludge Records 2011 is going t o be another great year for We Bang!

<<< HENDRIX >>>
Nasty Rumor- Drop Dirty- ELectrolouis.com-STL
[Dubstep- Heavy Bass- Hood Bass]

Alex Hendrix is one of the hardest working men in the local St. Louis dubstep scene. Accustomed to both digital DJing and traditional club techniques, he’s a constant presence behind the decks at regional mid-west night clubs and house parties. His prior gigs archive include opening sets for Borgore, Shpongle, Hulk, Vaski, HD4000, Hellfire Machina and more. Always cranking out new studio mixes, along with being a founding member of “The Wrek Sessions” on Electrolouis.com Internet radio and being the fore front of the in St. Louis’s hardest working crew, Nasty Rumor . But he’s more than just a DJ – he’s also one of the
area’s most prolific producers, continually developing his own signature sound with ground-breaking new tracks. Hendrix lives and breathes dubstep, making him one of St. Louis’ secret weapons.

<<< MONDOPE >>>
Nasty Rumor- KilliNoize Productions- Springfield, IL
[Dubstep- Glitch- Breaks- Hood- Heavy Bass- Purple Crunk]

Hailing from Springfield, IL Armando Zuniga aka “MonDope” is a fresh force to be reckoned with. Although he has only been performing and promoting for a short period of time, MonDope is no stranger to the scene. With an eclectic arsenal of music ranging from metal to hip-hop and underground, as well as many different forms of electronic music, there is never a dull moment in his sets. In the summer of 2010 Mondope came together with other local DJs to form Killinoize, a production company interested in bringing the new wave of bass music to Illinois’ own capitol city. Killnoize quickly gained a following of like-minded enthusiasts and bass heads in the region. Mondope’s sets are energetic and demand your attention. He will bring anything from glitch-hop to dubstep, drum & bass, crunk, breaks, funk and even jungle/reggae to the dance floor. Able to feel out any crowd at any moment, MonDope delivers a HEADY blend to get down to. Playing along side National acts such as Pretty Lights, Michael Menert, NastyNasty, VibeSquad, DNAE BEATS, R/D, NiTGriT, Freddy Todd, Elfkowitz, Alpaca, Phaded, Spankalicous, Bassthoven and more to come. Expect the best of this rising artist in 2011!

<<< MOHAWK vs HEEZY >>>
Nasty Rumor- Drop Dirty- Electrolouis.com- STL
[Dubstep- Drumstep- Glitch Hop- Heavy Spooky Bass]

Mohawk vs. Heezy is a DJ tag-team from St. Louis dedicated to playing the very heaviest dubstep, glitch-hop and electronic bass music. This duo pits Heezy — STL’s busiest dubstep promoter and a renowned expert in reggae dubstep — against the cutting-edge producer and digital guru known as The Mohawk. The result is some serious wreckage, as they one-up each other with deep wobbles and crazy effects to create a brutal sonic experience. This high-energy sound got them nominated for the 2010 Riverfront Times Music Awards and opening slots for Lazer Sword, Mimosa, Bombaman, Hulk and more. You can check them out every Monday night with “The Wrek Sessions” on Electrolouis.com internet radio, but the full experience needs to be felt in person — M v H defines heavy. You’ve been warned!

<<< TRINKETZ >>>
Killinoize Productions
Peoria, IL

Trinketz, aka Devin Gorman, is an up and coming talent born and raised in Peoria, IL. This places him in the perfect location to contribute to the growth of the Chicago/St. Louis dubstep scene. His love for music combined with technological skills acquired through majoring in Graphic Design has brought him to become one of Peoria’s most well-known dubstep DJs, as the scene continues to explode.
He began experimenting in late 2008 in order to give people something new and different to hear as well as entertain, by being able to create and control what group of people listened to with hopes they would enjoy. As the dubstep invasion continues to takeover, his passion helps him contribute and bring together the midwest’s growing music scene.
His combination of experimentally heavy bass, glitched out dance beats, and and dark psychedelic sound allows him to destroy dance floors with ear shattering bass drops. Within the Peoria area he has become a regular performer at “Wobble Wednesdays”, a weekly dubstep event that takes place at a local bar called Cam’s Place every Wednesday. Because of the dub invasion, Wobble Wednesdays have become excessively popular, allowing Trinketz to gain even more recognition, and a growing fan base. In late 2010 Trinketz was officially signed to Killinoize Productions. This is only the beginning.

Accustomed to both digital DJing and traditional club techniques, he’s a constant presence behind the decks at regional Midwest night clubs and house parties. H’e performed alongside Borgore, Shpongle, Hulk, Vaski, HD4000, Hellfire Machina and more with upcoming shows with Trillbass, MRK1, Trowa, DeeJ & Nebulla. Hendrix is constantly cranking out new studio mixes, along with being a founding member of “The Wrek Sessions” on Electrolouis.com Internet radio and being the fore front of the in St. Louis’s hardest working crew, Nasty Rumor.

Not only is Alex one of the Midwest’s premier DJ’s, he’s also one of the area’s most prolific producers, continually developing his own signature sound with ground-breaking new tracks. Hendrix lives and breathes
Dubstep, making him one of St. Louis’ secret weapons. 2011 is the year for this very talented individual. Be sure to check out the bone crushing bass that Hendrix purveys in your city very soon!

The Car Thief:
(Wolf Pack/ Furthersound)

Fueled by red meat, alcohol and a love for loud noises… Sean McCarthy aka The Car Thief has the ability to turn any event into the time of your life. From basement parties to some of the largest events in the Midwest, it’s non stop dancing, jumping, yelling and pure madness on the dance floor and behind the decks. Don’t even try and keep up with his pace and energy; this beast is a full fledged profesional party animal.

Sean is also one of the founders of The Wolf Pack. This super group of DJs, producers and visual artist that has taken Chicago and the rest of the Midwest by storm. Be on the look out for big things from The Car Thief as he journeys deeper into the realms of bass music. There’s no stopping this monster now.

<<< PAH JE >>> 12am-1am

Pah Jé aka “The Reggae Ambassador” has been pushing the envelope in EDM for 7 years and has never looked back. Throughout this time, his deep and technical mixing style, seasoned track selection, “jack-of-all-trades” mentality, and the willingness to embrace and utilize both digital and analog mediums to their fullest potential, has propelled him through many different theatres of music, including Electrobreaks, Drum and Bass, Jungle, Breakcore, IDM/Experimental/Glitch, and currently, Dubstep and Garage.

One aspect of a proper soundclash that happens to be often overlooked by many is dynamics. His DJ sets never cease to vary in demeanor, and with a firm grasp on crowd control and strong convictions for never repeating the same mix twice, Pah Jé bases his on-the-fly selection on what suits the mood at any given point in the evening, and will not rest until you’re skanking holes in your sneakers. His own sound of dubstep, however, is unmistakable. Taking synthesis as far as it will go, Pah Jé’s signature recipe of rasta overtones, abstracted polyrhythms, and deep, dark, contorted bass weight sticks out like a sore thumb. His mostly unreleased Dubstep tracks have been wrecking soundsystems across North America for well over a year, receiving remix treatment and support from artists like Trillbass, Hulk, Conscious Pilot, XI, and Bombaman.

Pah Jé has always been in the frontlines of the Missouri Dubstep scene, and was one of the first few Dubstep selectors in the area. He has spent the past 5 years behind the decks exposing the region to the future sounds of bass music, initially with Unitovone, an IDM/Experimental artist collective and promotional entity, alongside John Tammbuckle of Kvist Records, as early as fall of 2006. After landing upon inevitable artistic differences, he then teamed up with the Dub Hz crew (Caustik, Jim K, and SoulReal), and together they established the city’s first 100% Dubstep monthly at the Upstairs Lounge in 2008. A well recieved Friday afternoon radio program on Dubstep.FM shortly followed, and the program can be spotted among the archives, as well as legendary guest appearances on various programs alongside some of Dubstep’s heaviest hitters, such as The Widdler, Joe Nice, The Bassist, Zeno, Phaded, FSTZ, Solo, Nameloc.

Through these outlets the Dub Hz crew soon became notorious for their all-vinyl sessions. Without a doubt, Pah Jé currently wields the most extensive dubstep vinyl collection within a radius of a number of states, and given that the format is available to utilize, you can expect to hear a number of white labels, rares, promos, and classics on an analog format, which has a notably distinctive (and rather seductive) low end warmth. The comparison to digital is apples to oranges: truly a difference you can FEEL.

Since then, Jim K and Caustik have moved out west, Dub Hz/Rise Up became defunct, and the residency torch has been passed. In 2010, he joined Nasty Rumor and aided them in bringing Dubstep to the forefront of local popularity in 2010. Needless to say, it has been a busy year for Pah Jé, performing at 3 Schwagstocks, his 6th consecutive Underground Sound, and co-billing with pioneers such as Tes La Rok, Excision, Reso, and DZ.

<<< HEEZY >>> 9pm-10pm
(Nasty Rumor/ Drop Dirty/ Electrolouis.com)

One half of the St. Louis duo know as Mohawk vs Heezy aka M v H who became nominated in the RiverFront Times best dj’s of 2010, is a multi-talented dj/promoter who has helped shape the dubstep scene in St. Louis. Heezy is originally from Fresno, California. He moved to St. Louis where he saw an opportunity to progress his career in the ever-growing music scene that St. Louis has to offer. Heezy as a dj plays Reggae, Dubstep, Glitch Hop, Psyphy, and Crunk styles of music. Although his dubstep is very dub reggae based, bass is not a issue when Heezy is on the decks. Having opened for Kraddy, MRK1, Trillbass, Antiserum, High Rankin, Mark Instinct, Hulk, Noah D, Mimosa, NastyNasty, Lazer Sword, Alex B, Ben Samples, iLL Gates, Cyberoptix, Bombaman, Rastatronics. Heezy has the experience and the talent to hang with the best of them; and has the big names to back that up. From a promoter’s standpoint, Heezy is the CEO of Nasty Rumor, which undoubtedly is the supreme dubstep label in St. Louis. With Heezy also involved in the huge development of The Wrek Sessions Internet radio weekly at 2720, Which has recently been nominated for “Best Residency/ Weekly” award from St. Louis RFT. Heezy is always on the grind to feed St. Louis their dubstep needs.
